Accountable to:
TreeHouse Youth Program Director

Primary Objective of Position:
To provide leadership in assigned TreeHouse area in planning, developing, and implementing youth program services; to supervise staff, and participate in, delivery and maintenance of established youth programs with program participants.

Major Areas of Accountability:
(General FHS Staff Requirement: Responsibility to maintain a life of faith in God, meet the need of family, and function as a member of good standing of a local church.)

1. Provides leadership in planning and organizing program and project activities for assigned area and coordinates with other TreeHouse areas and departments of Family Hope Services; sets goals for area ministry, which includes trips, activities, weekly meetings, recruiting, Going Deeper content, support groups, number of participants, etc.

2. Oversees assigned staff and volunteers in carrying out support groups, Going Deeper, and growth groups; serves as resource person to staff, and participates in activities, as appropriate.

3. Ascertains that care loads of individual area staff members are being properly attended and followed up.

4. Performs public relations duties by serving as Family Hope Services representative to community agencies; maintains liaison with courts, probation officers, pastors, schools, parents, etc.; promotes recruitment of area youth through follow-up of referrals from these sources.

5. Coordinates scheduling and use of facilities, vehicles, and equipment within area; inspects and performs routine maintenance of facilities and area equipment, including vehicles, tents, trailers, etc., and reports major items to the Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor for maintenance assistance or other determination.

6. Ascertains that safety is being properly administered in area activities; inspects and ascertains that equipment and vehicles are functioning properly, fire extinguishers are functional, and first-aid kits are supplied.

7. Prepares, or ascertains, that area activity reports, sign-in sheets, vehicle reports, financial reports, staff timesheets are properly completed, reviewed, approved, and submitted as required.

8. Participates in Ministry Partnership Development (MPD) activities by recruiting partners who will commit to prayer, contribute funds to Family Hope Services, and receive Family Hope Services newsletters and personal ministry update letters; nurtures partnerships through timely newsletters, and continues the work of recruiting and encouraging partners to invest in the ministry of Family Hope Services, of which the TreeHouse Area Director is a part, as an ongoing part of his/her ministry.

9. Ascertains that all area staff are meeting continuing education requirements.

10. Functions as member of the Program Leadership Team (PLT) in overseeing and developing the full TreeHouse ministry to youth and parents.

11. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned; participates and assists in Christmas tree lot activities, golf tournament, and other select promotions as assigned.

Accountability for Supervision:
12. Participates in decisions relating to the selection, promotion, transfer, compensation and discipline of all staff for whom accountable.

13. Provides on-job training and developing of assigned staff; orients them in pertinent organizational and TreeHouse policies and procedures; and clearly communicates work responsibilities and authority so that they may proceed with certainty in the performance of their duties.

14. Evaluates the effectiveness of assigned staff on a continuing basis and conducts effective performance reviews, as scheduled, to stimulate and reward improved performances and prepares them for promotional opportunities.

15. Develops a working climate in which assigned staff are motivated to achieve their full potential and demonstrates by personal example the desired standards of conduct and work performance.
